Battery Energy Storage Systems
Battery energy storage systems (BESS) have the capacity to support our energy needs by providing a consistent, reliable source of renewable electricity.
FuturEnergy Ireland is proposing to use an iron-air battery capable of storing energy for up to 100 hours at around one-tenth the cost of lithium ion across the battery energy storage portfolio.

How It Works
Battery energy storage systems enable energy from renewable sources, such as solar and wind, to be stored and then released when the power is needed most, irrespective of whether the wind is blowing.

The Benefits
Battery energy storage systems are a positive step towards a more sustainable, resilient and prosperous energy future for us all.
