The FuturEnergy Ireland team was thrilled to be recognised at the eir business Chambers Ireland awards on Friday evening, taking home Silver in the Deal of the Year category for the appointment of Ventolines as Owners' Engineer to Carrownagowan Wind Farm.
Ventolines, as a leading renewable energy services provider, oversees the technical requirements on site, safeguarding quality, costs, safety and integration of all technical deliveries on site. As one of Ireland's leading multi-disciplinary engineering and operations firms, Egis collaborates with Ventolines in supervising the construction and final design of the project.
This appointment represents a strategically significant transaction for FuturEnergy Ireland and a milestone deal for the Irish renewables market that enabled Carrownagowan Wind Farm, FuturEnergy Ireland’s first 100% owned project, to move decisively into delivery. It also marks Ventolines’ first project in Ireland, supported by a local delivery partnership with Egis. By aligning international expertise with local delivery capability, and by prioritising long‑term value over short‑term cost, the deal sets a new benchmark for complex infrastructure appointments in Ireland’s energy transition.
Mary Lynch, Delivery Director at FuturEnergy Ireland, said: The appointment of Ventolines as OE for Carrownagowan Wind Farm followed a rigorous procurement process. It represents a landmark deal for FuturEnergy Ireland that enables the delivery of Carrownagowan Wind Farm, which will play a significant role in fighting climate change and providing clean, home-produced electricity to Ireland as well as supporting the local area through a €11 million community benefit fund, local rates contributions and employment. This is an exciting time for Carrownagowan Wind Farm and for FuturEnergy Ireland as we move towards construction supported by such strong industry leaders."
Located in East Co. Clare, Carrownagowan Wind Farm will comprise 19 turbines and is expected to generate enough clean, green electricity to power the equivalent of around 70,000 homes a year, offsetting an estimated 2.8 million tonnes of CO₂ over its lifetime compared with traditional generation.
A huge thank you to Chambers Ireland for a brilliant night celebrating the very best of Irish business — and congratulations to all the other winners and finalists.
