We are very pleased to share the news that we received the Green Small Organisation of the Year Award at the Green Awards last week.
The judges called out our green practices, robust strategy and commitment to innovation and sustainable solutions, as well as our pioneering initiatives, such as Generation Change.
FuturEnergy Ireland is a joint venture between Coillte and ESB that was created as a direct response to the climate crisis. Sustainability has been part of our DNA since the inception of the company just over three years ago. The challenge for us has been to go beyond that and embed sustainability into our everyday business operations.
We have embraced sustainability by looking at and investing in new and innovative ways to develop projects. This has allowed us to optimise our natural resources, reduce our projects’ environmental footprints and build local partnerships, ultimately setting a standard on how development can be done well.
There have been two key factors that have helped us to drive sustainability forward within the business: our team and our two parent companies. Our team embodies a culture that is rooted in a strong set of values, demonstrating a proactive commitment to doing things the right way, and our parent companies provide a long-term vision for sustainability, ensuring that our commitment endures well beyond trends or shifting public discourse on climate action. We look forward to continuing on this journey and helping to build a more sustainable future for generations to come.
Thank you Green Awards and award sponsor, Skillnet Climate Ready Academy! Pictured receiving the award are, from left, are FuturEnergy Ireland team members Aoife McGovern, Shannen Healy, Janine Thomas and Peter Lynch.
