Sinéad O'Malley talks planning at the Wind Energy Ireland conference

FuturEnergy Ireland’s Planning Manager Sinéad O'Malley addressed the challenges facing the planning system and proposed a series of constructive solutions when she delivered a highly relevant presentation to delegates at the Wind Energy Ireland Annual Conference yesterday. The suggested changes are urgently needed to accelerate renewable energy generation. Sinéad highlighted key areas that need to change in legislation, policy and development management that would improve the speed and efficiency of the planning system. The proposal which resonated the most with delegates is that the most impactful provisions of Ireland’s Climate Act should be reflected in the Planning Bill, which is now in its final review.
