Last week, we had the pleasure of visiting Neurodiversity Ireland at their Sensory Centre in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Neurodiversity Ireland is a national charity that supports neurodivergent children and families. They run Ireland’s first and only Sensory Centre where their expert team provide occupational therapy-guided afterschool and summer camps for neurodivergent children.
During our visit we heard first-hand about the great work that is being carried out by this organisation. The team described the Sensory Centre as a “safe space” where the children could play and explore different activities at their own pace.
Neurodiversity Ireland was chosen by our team as our 2025 “charity of the year”, meaning that any fundraising activities carried out by FuturEnergy Ireland in 2025 will be directed towards this charity. Our first initiative was a Steps Challenge in which we set ourselves the target of walking 10,000 steps a day in May - a total of 7.75 million steps. The 24 team members who took part came in well above the target, collectively walking 8,814,620 steps to raise €1,000 for our chosen charity.
