What a fantastic start to the year for wind energy with a record-breaking January. The latest Wind Energy Ireland Report shows that 41% of our electricity was supplied by wind last month. That’s the highest ever amount for the month of January, and a 9% increase on 2022, providing enough electricity to power 320,000 homes for a year. This follows a strong Q4, which saw wind energy as the No 1 supplier of electricity in Ireland. We’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2023 will bring.
