Role Objective
As the Head of Strategy & Innovation, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing new strategic initiatives which will support FuturEnergy Ireland’s development and delivery business units, and also provide the Company with attractive options for pursuing new energy market opportunities which complement its core business areas and provide new development opportunities for the longer-term.
Responsibilities
- Implementation of Existing Strategic Plan:
o Assess key risks and opportunities linked to the Company’s current strategy;
o Develop new mitigation strategies in respect of risks;
o Assess and bring forward new business opportunities which can support the Company’s
current strategy;
o Develop and grow required new capabilities within the team as relates to the successful
delivery of strategic work-streams;
o Support the owners of all ongoing strategic initiatives to ensure successful delivery;
o Be an advocate of the Company’s strategy across its Stakeholder group.
- Development & Implementation of New Strategic Plan:
o Lead the process by which the Company’s strategic plan is refreshed for the period pre and
post-2030;
o Ensure that all relevant ancilliary market opportunities are assessed;
o Where relevant, scope out compelling market-entry strategies which are aligned with
the Company’s core mandate of delivering 1GW of green power into the Irish market;
o Influencing key stakeholders linked to the successful delivery of the Company’s strategy;
o Develop expertise in all enabling stakeholder areas which support the Company’s
strategy.
- Assessment of all innovative internal or market-facing strategies and relevant market changes;
- Lead development of innovative culture, mindset and initiatives across the full breadth of the
business.

Desired Technical/Professional Competencies:
- A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or relevant field; master’s degree desirable.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience with proven track record in a similar leadership role including experience in driving business strategy and innovation.
- Skilled in leading on strategic and creating opportunities, with a keen ability to understand insights, create plans and drive commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment, with strong skills in prioritising and planning.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to articulate plans clearly across all levels of the organisation.
Proficient in negotiation and influencing outcomes to align with business objectives.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to foster collaboration across departments and with external partners, ensuring alignment and mutual success.
- Ability to lead relevant governance processes to ensure maximum buy-in by key shareholders such as shareholders and Board.
- Effective decision-maker with strong critical thinking skills, capable of making decisions in ambiguity and assessing their implication.
